Uploading Files

Tom Metz -

For all regular subscriptions (i.e. not in trial), WorshipPlanning.com offers unlimited space for uploaded files.  We can offer this feature thanks to a partnership with Amazon and their AWS service, which provides one of the largest and most secure cloud hosting services in the world.

Files uploaded to WorshipPlanning.com are accessible only by Planners accounts for your church, and a limited number of your Helpers.  All files uploaded are accessible in on the Files Library page (Library >> Files) once logged in.  Files can be associated with various elements in your WorshipPlanning.com account, including services, songs, teams, and content library items.  Files can be uploaded directly on the Files Library page, or as you edit the details of the items to which the files need to be associated.  This prevents you from having to upload files on one page, then go to another page to attach the files (i.e. to a song).

WorshipPlanning.com pays no attention to the types of files being uploaded (except for MP3s - see below).  If you upload a file that requires special software to open, then your team members will only be able to open that file if they have the same special software.  Think of WP's upload feature as a network drive at your office, or a flash drive.  Just because a teammate has access to the file doesn't mean they have the application needed to use the file.

MP3s are a special exception to the above paragraph.  If WorshipPlanning.com detects that the file is an MP3, the person uploading the file will be given the option to configure the file as "Stream only", meaning it cannot be downloaded by Helpers.  Rather, it will be played in a media player on the WorshipPlanning.com website.  MP3s can also be transposed using the WorshipPlanning.com MP3 transposer.

I needed this information.  I'm on a 30-day trial membership to make sure my team and I can use this site to prepare for services.  In addition to Song select charts, we have a bank of charts made and edited for performing.  It is important that we are able to attach and use these.

I also found out the Mp3's are stream only and a few band members are not mobile device users.

Although it says I can attach files, I can't try it out during this 30 day trial-bummer

Hi Debra.  Even as a trial user, you definitely should be able to attach files to song, services, and teams.  And MP3s do not have to be stream only.  In fact, our File Access report will separately count the number of unique downloads and streams separately so that you can report this info to your CCLI Rehearsal License.  If you are still having trouble with either of these, I'll open a support ticket and we'll get you squared away.  We also have the flexibility to increase your 100MB quota during the trial if you need.  Just let us know.
