Calling all Mobile Devices

Tom Metz -

Are you using a mobile device to access WorshipPlanning.com?  If so, you might not know that there is a version of the site that is specifically designed for mobile devices.  In fact, a few months ago we made the decision that this mobile site would replace the native iPhone app.  This decision was made for a number of reasons you can read about here.

Today, we are making it significantly easier for mobile users to find the new mobile website.  When you access the WorshipPlanning.com site with your iOS or Android device, you'll be redirect to the mobile site (which you can also browser to directly by pointing your mobile browser to http://wplan.me).  On the mobile page, you'll be given the option to "Go to full site".

WP will remember that you prefer the full site on your mobile device, and not take the liberty of redirecting you to the mobile site next time.  And when you click on the "Respond to Assignments" link in assignment and reminder emails from your mobile device, you'll be taken to the mobile version of the assignment response page.  And, like the full MyWP site, no login will be necessary.

It would be nice to see the full site being more "touch screen" friendly, for devices like an ipad or iphone. Or...... make the mobile site with all the options of the full site, I would like to be able to plan worship from my iPad completely! Thanks!

I would echo this request. I access the full site often from my iPad, but without drag and drop functionality, one can't assign people or roles, or create a virtual stage plan. Any chance we might see this?

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.  We know that with the popularity of tablets, several areas of WP must become more touchscreen friendly.  And we certainly are working on it.

Another comment about the drag and drop.  I have successfully created my worship service on my tablet but I cannot assign it to or notify my helpers. It would be nice to complete without having to find a desktop.

I, too, would like to see the mobile site mirror the full site as much as possible.  In particular, I'd like for our team to be able to access our entire song library, not just songs that have been scheduled for a service.  Several of our band members only access WP from their tablet or phone, and when we try to prepare a song several weeks in advance, they can't find the files unless we "unofficially" schedule it for a random service time in the future.

I switched to the full site on my iPhone but want to switch the default back.  How do I do this?

Hi Greg.  When looking at the full site on your mobile device, go to the bottom and find the "Go to Mobile" and click it. http://www.screencast.com/t/EzMEa5WepB

Hey Tom I have a question/concern and this may not be the place to be but I will start with you. I am new to Worshipplanning.com and so far I love everything about it. Here is my problem...when I make assignments and my worship team members accept or decline the assignment from their iphone or android phones, the response does not show up for the particular service assigned. Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong or why this is happening.

    Thanks for the help.

Hi Paul.  Seems this is an issue that was introduced when we started including the various response buttons in the emails.  We have our dev team working on it now and hope to have it resolved very soon.  I see you submitted a support ticket, which is perfect.  We'll contact you that way once it has been resolved.

I'm testing out the service right now, but I'm having trouble with the program on my IPhone 5. It works well on my laptop and Ipad. Are there issues with the IPhone? It keeps going back to the login screen.

Hi Mary. Sorry for the delay getting back to you.  We are not aware of any issues on the iPhone.  I assuming you are trying to log in to the mobile version of the site, correct?

It appears that it's just my IPhone that isn't working. Still trying to troubleshoot this issue. Worked fine on another phone that I tested. Thanks.

One of my band members is having the same problem as Mary.  It keeps taking him back to the log in screen.  He gets logged in, clicks My Assignments and it takes him back to the log in screen.  He is using an iPhone and the mobile website.  No matter what he trys to do it keeps asking him to log in.  We have reset his password and it still doesn't work.  He can get signed in on a computer with no issues.

    H Rich,

It sounds like you may need to tweak your cookie settings in Safari:
    •  Check Settings >> Safari >> Block Cookies.  If it's set to “Always Block”, that could be the problem.
Also, I'd like to mention that we are working on a native mobile app that should hopefully alleviate problems like this in the future.

If this doesn't help, email me back and we'll move this exchange to a ticket in the support center.
