Creating Services

Tom Metz -

Services can be created individually or multiple services at a time.

The "Create Multiple Services" page was originally designed to create all the services for a message series (i.e. a 10 week series on the Ten Commandments).   But we've made the page more flexible in that it can now be used to create many weeks of services, even if they aren't all related to the same "series".    When creating multiple weeks of services, WP allows you to specify the starting date of the group, time of the main service (and linked services), as well as a few other details.

To create either a single or multiple services:

    1. Login to WP and make sure you are at the Home screen
    2. Click on the service day in the calendar (if creating a series, click the first day of the series)  - You can also hover over the Services navigation menu to see the same options.
    3. Select to create a single service or multiple services

Thanks for the feedback, Lisa!  I actually just updated the text so that it is a little more applicable to some recent features.

This doesn't actually go with the topic but can you assign more than one song to a particular element in a worship service?

Hi Ed.  No, you can't add more than one song per element.  But you can easily have multiple of the same element type in a row.  This allows you to specify a greater level of details per song (like if you have different lead singers, song mappings, and notes for each song).  Here is a screenshot for you: http://www.screencast.com/t/Sp92WroV5w

Thanks Tom.  Happy New Year!  Another question - is is possible to edit multiple services at the same time?

And Happy New Year to you too!  To answer your question, it depends on what you want to edit.  If you have services linked to a master service, then any changes you make to the worship flow of the master service will automatically be reflected in the linked service.  Does this help?

Am I able to add a file other than a song to an element in the Worship Flow?

You can with the new version beta of WorshipPlanning.com.  Here is how to enable it, if you haven't already: http://support.worshipplanning.com/entries/28800253-WorshipPlanning-com-5-0-Beta

I did have it enabled but I didn't like it.  I wasn't able to do some things when it was enabled.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't care for it.  Would you mind sharing what you didn't like about it?  We are eager for feedback so we can make improvements to this future design of WP.  You're welcome to reply with your feedback here, or better yet, provide us your thoughts in this very brief 4 question survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WMS3LL6 .

Hi Ed.  I just created this brief video on how you add elements to the worship flow with version 5.0.  Can you take a look and let me know if you are having trouble doing what I did in this video? http://www.screencast.com/t/vWzZm0Dn

I am having trouble finding an answer to my question on your self-help pages. How can I have multiple services appear on the roles page so I don't have to do each service separately? Is that possible? I do not want o link services, I'm gathering, because we do not have identical services, but I am hoping there is a way to have multiple services displayed to assign people their roles.

    Thanks!

    Sarah
