How are people notified of when they are scheduled to serve?

The default notification is sent via email.  However, people can add secondary email addresses, SMS text numbers, and hooks to Facebook for notifications.  This is done on the "Communication Settings" page.  Log in to, click on "Account" in the upper right corner (and My Profile, if you have the option) then the "Communication Settings" tab.
