Song Mapping is a way of defining how a song is to be performed. For example, your song might start with an intro, then verse 1, chorus, verse 2, chorus, bridge, chorus. Rather than manually typing this into the notes section of your worship flow, the Song Mapping feature allows you to drag and drop the parts of the song into the desired order.
Start off by ensuring the parts are labeled properly in the lyrics tab of the song details (parts that the program will read: chorus, pre-chorus, verse, misc, bridge, refrain, tag, ending, intro, instrumental):
Next, Edit the song > go to the Song Map tab and arrange the parts in the typical order for the song. Simply drag the parts from the left to the right. You can also rearrange the parts already on the right side. By default, the order will be the same as the order of the parts in the Lyrics tab.
Once done, be sure to click the "Save" button at the bottom.
When you add the song to the worship flow, it will automatically use the Song Mapping you defined in the song details. But you can change the order just for that particular service by clicking the Edit (music note with box to the left of the song map, just beneath the song title) icon in the Worship Element Details window. You can choose whether or not to make that your default mapping, delete the mapping for the worship flow, or restore the original song mapping to the original.
The song mapping you specify in the worship flow is visible to Helpers and Planners as they view and print the worship flow and song details.
Happy mapping!
